About Candy AI
Candy AI is two products under one login: an AI companion app with over 100 ready-made characters and a builder for your own, plus Candy Shorts, a big library of vertical video series that's easily the more interesting half. It suits people who want something to watch as well as someone to talk to, and who can live with tokens rationing the extras.
The chat and what it remembers
Chat is the base layer: text first, with voice notes and voice conversations on top, and roleplay allowed. Memory builds as you go, so the longer you stay with one character the more it picks up on what you like and how you talk. Unlimited text is a Premium perk, and a free account (the button says Create Free Account) is generally capped at five messages to the characters.
The library sits under Girls, Anime and Guys tabs, and search covers creators too. The site comes in 13 languages.
Building your own companion
The builder opens as Create my AI Girl. The first screen asks Girls or Trans, the second Realistic or Anime. After the physical basics (the age wheel starts at 18) comes the part that shapes her behavior: a personality (Submissive is one of the options) and the relationship between you (it can open with her as a Stranger). A job, a voice and hobbies finish it off.
Creating your own AI girlfriend is on the Premium list, and detail costs tokens: the more elaborate the companion, the more of them you'll burn. That's the whole warning, with no numbers attached.
Photos, voice and video
Premium lists 18+ image and video generation, a Generate Image tab sits in the main menu, and your companion can talk back through voice notes or voice conversations. The extras run on tokens, and the plan page doesn't say what a photo, a voice note or a video costs, so you're budgeting blind. Render times and video resolution I can't give you either.
Candy Shorts
Candy Shorts is where Candy gets interesting. The Explore All Shorts grid holds more than 20 series, nearly all wearing a NEW EPISODES badge, with tags like Spicy and Taboo to sort them. Most I checked run five episodes, though one is listed at 27.
Fair warning about that grid: it leans hard on step-family stories. My Step-Sister's Dormitory (a 20-year-old guy, his older stepsister Riley, one weekend in her college dorm) and Good Boy For Stepmom don't hide it, and several of the other titles stay in the family too. If that's your thing, there's a lot to get through. If it isn't, 20-plus series is less impressive than it sounds.
Opening a series shows the structure at once. In The Witch Who Made Me King, episodes one and two open straight away while three to five sit behind a padlock with a New badge. Two free, three paid. Every series also has a Chat with the Cast button, which opens a conversation with one of its characters (Vexrated, in this one). So the story leads right into the chat.
The player is a full-screen vertical feed with a heart to like, a mute button and up and down arrows to move between clips, plus a Short series badge. The series tags sit under the title, and a character avatar with a WATCH NOW button takes you to the content. It's familiar ground if you've ever flicked through TikTok.
One series, Our Host Is Riley Reid, carries a real performer's name under Candy's own branding. The content policy (revised July 2026) says everything is AI-generated except where a known person has given explicit consent and usage rights to a digital version of themselves. That would explain this one, though I can't confirm how the series was made. Whether Premium alone opens every lock, or tokens come into it, I couldn't confirm either.
What it actually costs
Free is a five-message sampler. The plan page shows prices to anyone, no account needed, and they're localized: the same figures show up in euros if you browse from Europe. Three tiles do the selling, and the 12-month one wears the 70% OFF and BEST VALUE badges: $3.99 a month, billed as $47.88 in one go, with a crossed-out $13.99 beside it. The page also boasts 50M users and 1000+ ratings, which is the site grading itself.

Tokens are the catch. About 100 come with each month of Premium, they pay for the extras from image generation to voice notes and video, and when the subscription ends, whatever is left expires, with no refund and no carryover. Some platforms sell packs that never expire, which makes Candy's use-it-or-lose-it approach look unforgiving. Top-ups exist, but I don't have prices for them.
Run the monthly route for a year and you'd pay $163.88 ($9.99 once, then eleven payments of $13.99), so the annual plan is $116 cheaper and the 70% badge holds up. The Premium list promises a "Full Live Action Experience" without saying what that is, and I'd want a definition first.
Privacy, payment and who runs it
EverAI Limited runs Candy AI from Santa Venera, Malta. It's registered with the Malta Business Registry, Maltese law and courts govern any dispute, and it publishes eleven legal pages. The age check at the door is an 18+ confirmation, plus extra checks where local rules demand them.
The privacy notice (revised October 16, 2026) cites GDPR, the Swiss FADP and the California and Virginia privacy acts, and it's upfront about the AI side. Chats can be de-identified and used to train its models, and flagged or reported content gets human review. Outside model providers may also receive the text of your messages.
Charges show up on your bank statement as EverAI, with no mention of Candy AI, and auto-renewal can be switched off in settings at any time. Refunds depend on where you live: EU and UK buyers get 14 days from the purchase email (first purchase only), everyone else gets 24 hours, and even then a refund is denied once you've used more than 20 tokens.
So, is Candy AI worth it?
For the Shorts, yes, with a few strings attached. The library is big, nearly every series carries a new-episodes badge, and $47.88 for a year is an easy number to gamble on. The strings are the step-family tilt, tokens that vanish with the plan, and a 24-hour refund window outside the EU and UK. Try the free account and the free episodes first.

Candy AI is the one to try if you want a companion app with a big library of vertical video series attached and you can live with tokens that expire when the plan does. Start on the free account and the free episodes, because five messages tell you very little about the chat. If you go Premium, annual works out far cheaper per month at $3.99, but outside the EU and UK you get 24 hours to ask for a refund, and the plan page doesn't say what the 100 monthly tokens buy.
